( 16 June 2022 ) Fiiiiinally got this
girl together! She’s been in progress forever. I got a second Minifee
Soony head last summer because I really wanted to do up a darker-skinned
Soony. I went through a few bodies before deciding that I liked this
one best. It’s the Dream Valley B4-11 body in the limited Chocolate
resin (although from what I saw, some people got a much lighter color
for chocolate =( ). The body has a super long neck with a flare at the
top, so I found that she looked best without the Minifee neck piece. I
was able to use a neck donut from @peachdaydreams
to attach the head (pic in the carousel if you wanted to see how it
works). I also used a kip to pad things. The only downside is that the
neck donut keeps knocking her eye out of place, haha. Her face is
airbrushed and I’m honestly really proud of how much better this attempt
went than my past attempts. Her wig is too big and that makes me sad
but other than that I’m really happy with her!

( 10 June 2022 ) When it rains it pours in terms of doll arrivals, and this girl arrived the same day as Irvin. I ordered her back in January, so the wait was longer than usual for Huajing doll, but that was understandable. She’s a really lovely doll. The company faceup is great, she has nice proportions and her body is easy to pose and well-engineered. The only thing I don’t like is the way her chest is sculpted, haha. It’s very “Michelangelo”.

( 16 June 2022) A grail boy! Irvin is
another one of the dolls I really wanted when I first got into BJDs,
around when he originally came out. He doesn’t come around often and
I’ve missed/lost him when he came out, so I was so excited to snag this
one! He has a broken finger I need to repair but I’m not a perfectionist
about that. I kind of want to add to his faceup though, and take his
eyelashes out since the way they’re installed they’re actually super
long lashes put really far into his head so they point straight down.
Also he really needs a better wig. He’s actually a character of mine
though, this is Bat!

( June 5 2022) After the biggest workout of a sueding job ever, Alice can stand! So
here’s a comparison of Lusion and Otohime. Their proportions are quite
different but not so much that I feel like they can’t hang out.

New friend for Yu-chan arrival! (May 10 2022) Otohime has lots of great features, and I found I really like the size, but Lusion excels at a lot of the things Otohime struggles with (sitting poses especially). I thought I was safe from them but I had never seen the Alice sculpt before! I loooove her, she reminds me of Kid Dollmore Momo with an open mouth so as soon as I knew she existed it was over for me.

Ghost in the Shell Innocence Gynoid Hadari doll I got off Mandarake. The lips seemed to me painted with enamel the same as the white coating, so I opted to just paint right over them. She’s a stunning sculpt! Although, I think it’s funny that her teeth are the only part not coated in white enamel.
The picture that shows the inside of her head gives you a good visual of how yellow 17-year-old resin might get. The inside of her head has never seen sunlight so this is 100% natural aging.

So, in May I attended PNW BJD Expo and did a faceup presentation/demo. For that I took exhaustive step by step photos of the faceup on my Megu and made a whole Powerpoint presentation on it. You can read it if you want! But be warned that the notes are speaker notes and not proofread at all, haha.

Airbrushed Minifee Soony on Dream Valley body WIP shots! (March/April 2022) My airbrush was exceptionally well-behaved for this one.

This DV body B4-11 was the darker event color (Coffee) from August 2021. Different people got very different colors out of that event. Mine is pretty dark, more similar to Iplehouse’s light brown than the tan shades I saw some other people receive. That’s why I took the comparison photo.

I got a nice camera and lens lot on eBay so I ran aorund my room taking pictures of dolls as they were without any special lighting or anything.

Not having a great time lately, either at the personal, work or global level. Just doing what I can. Working on something I like in the off time is always good, though. Here’s faceup progress on my sleeping Soony. She’s very softly color matched to the DD1 body… I wanted her to be in-between enough that I could use either the DD1 or the Delf/F60 hybrid body if I wanted.
