I was WILDLY overambitious making a gift for @muddyevil<\/a> and this is what I ended up with, haha. This is their character Hiroki (who is my OC in law) I sculpted the head, but the body is by ChrisGTZB. I printed the full doll in Ziro3d Matte PLA and did a light overall sanding. I designed the head cap with a hairline shape so that he could have both a regular\/shaved head cap and a wig where I glued the hair directly to the print.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The faceup was a super experimental one for me. Because this is PLA and not that smooth I knew pastels would not apply very smoothly, so I decided to try doing an all-acrylic faceup with no sealant. I used matte Acryl Gouache and tried the Vallejo Glazing Medium for the first time. That stuff is a game changer! It lets me blend out the paint beautifully and I feel like I’ve unlocked the secrets of the universe. I’m excited to try it on other dolls too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
